Most sportsmen hear "Argentina" and immediately picture the windswept plains of Patagonia. But if you want volume, adrenaline, and the ultimate dual-threat adventure, you need to look North.
Welcome to Corrientes, a subtropical province of wetlands and gallery forests that has quietly become the world’s premier destination for free-range Axis deer and the undisputed capital of the ferocious Golden Dorado.
THE BLAST: Axis Hunting in the Green North
Your trip kicks off with 3 days and 4 nights operating on a private 25,000-hectare estancia near Perugorría. Unlike the open pampas, this landscape is a tactical maze of dense bushland, tall grass, and palm savannas. It is lush, emerald green, and teeming with life.
-
The Encounter: Because of the heavy cover, this is not a long-range shooting gallery. This is an up-close, boots-on-the-ground pursuit. You are slipping through the timber, often finding yourself within 50 yards of a herd before you even see them.
-
Archery & Rifle: This environment levels the playing field. For rifle hunters, it’s often fast-paced snap shooting. For bowhunters, it is arguably the best spot-and-stalk Axis venue on the planet. The cover allows you to close the distance, resulting in heart-stopping encounters.
-
The Trophy: Corrientes produces giants. The year-round nutrition allows these bucks to reach their full genetic potential, carrying heavy mass and the signature lyrated beams that make the Axis deer one of the most beautiful trophies in existence.
THE CAST: Golden Dorado in Bella Vista
After bagging your bucks, your group will trade the bushland for the boats. You will head to the legendary waters of Bella Vista for 3 full days of chasing the "Tiger of the River" the Golden Dorado.
-
The Fishery: The Paraná River system here is a dynamic mix of clear-water sandbanks, deep channels, and structure-heavy shorelines where apex predators hunt.
-
The Method: Pick your poison. Whether you are stripping large streamers on a fly rod, aggressively working topwater lures, or drifting bait, the Golden Dorado will test your tackle and your nerves.
-
The Fight: Known for their shimmering gold scales, jaw-breaking strike power, and relentless acrobatic leaps, a hooked Dorado is pure chaos on the end of the line.
The Lodges & Lifestyle
Your days will end at premium traditional Argentine accommodations. We don't do "roughing it" here. Expect hot showers, roaring fires, and the legendary hospitality of Corrientes. Dinner is an event: world-class grass-fed beef asado cooked over wood coals, perfectly paired with the region's best Malbecs.
